Ill. Brother Curtis J. Kinney, 33°, was born January 5, 1930 in Evansville, IN to Curtis William and Mary Beatrice (Hancock) Kinney. After graduating from Bosse High School, he attended Indiana University, University of Southern Oregon, and the University of Miami. He attained his B.S. in education from Indiana University in 1952 and his M.S. in education in 1953.
Ill. Brother Kinney worked several temporary and part-time jobs with Chrysler Corporation, University of Evansville, several restaurants and was also a carpenter. He ended his business career as Supervisor of Business Education with the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation.
Ill. Brother Kinney married Evelyn Rose (McCutchan) August 23, 1951 they were married 52 years at the time of her passing and had three children, Curtis, Keith, and Sarah.
Ill. Brother Kinney was raised a Master Mason in Constellation Lodge # 748 F & AM on August 20, 1986 he served as Senior Steward, Senior Deacon, Senior Warden and Past Master. He joined the Valley of Evansville Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite March 28, 1987 serving on the Princes of Jerusalem Line through the ranks to Sovereign Prince.
Ill. Brother Kinney was crowned an honorary Thirty-Third in Pittsburgh, PA in 2000. He was a member of the Hadi Temple Shrine and various other organizations. His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, a sister and many nieces and nephews, survive him.
Funeral services were held Saturday July 13, 2019 at McCutchanville community church. Visitation from 2-7 PM Friday July 12, 2019 at Alexander North Chapel, there was a Masonic service at 6:30 PM followed by a Thirty-Third walk-through.
May our heavenly father have him now in his holy keeping. He will be dearly missed.
