Ill. Rev. Orion Tarrell Thompson, 33°

Ill. Rev. Orion Tarrell Thompson, 33° was the son of Orion P. and Nancy Thompson of Owensville, IN. His education through High School was in the Owensville In. School system. He attended Oakland City Kentucky Wesleyan, The University of Evansville and University of Guam Colleges and Methodist Theological Seminary of Ohio, where he had BA’s in Theology, History, Social, and Education.
Ill. Brother Thompson, served in the United States Army 126 Infantry Battalion, he was a Private first class. He married Eva Lena (Hurt) on July 10, 1946. They adopted three children Annetta L., Ronald D., and David R. Thompson.
Ill. Brother Thompson had a long and distinguished career in the Ministry, serving ten different churches, doing missionary work, coordinating work teams in response to hurricanes and tornadoes in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas.
Brother Thompson was raised a Master Mason in Livermore Lodge # 186 in Livermore KY. On June 2, 1959 later transferring to Rockport Lodge # 112, in Rockport, IN. He received the degrees of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite in the Valley of Guam on October 21, 1961, later transferring to the Valley of Evansville May 15, 1990. He was crowned a Sovereign Grand Inspector General, 33°, in St. Louis, MO in 2003.
His wife preceded him in death; their children, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren survive them.
